A hitch carrier keeps skis at waist height, off a wet roof and out of the wind, and it is the easiest option when lifting overhead is the problem. One thing to know before you buy: these are adapters, not standalone racks. The Thule Tram mounts to a Thule hanging hitch bike rack and carries six pairs of skis or four snowboards. The Yakima SnowBank attaches to an EXO SwingBase and carries five pairs or four boards.
