Description
The Yakima HangTight Vertical Hanging Bike Hitch Rack is designed for riders who need a secure, no-frame-contact solution for carrying two to four bikes on a 2" trailer hitch receiver. Its vertical hanging design cradles bikes by the handlebars, protecting frames and accommodating a variety of bike types — from kids' bikes to fat tire mountain bikes and standard road models.
This rack holds bikes weighing up to 70 lbs on the two center cradles and 37.5 lbs on the outer cradles, making it suitable for heavier mountain and electric bikes within these limits. It fits wheel sizes ranging from 20" to 29" and accommodates tires as wide as 5". The rotating rear wheel cups adjust for wheelbases up to 50", ensuring good fit across most bike designs. Note, this bike rack does not support aero or clip-on aero handlebars, nor handlebars thicker than 35mm in diameter. Dual-crown fork bikes require the separately sold HangTight DH Cradle accessory.
Loading your bikes is straightforward thanks to fully padded cradles that protect handlebars from scratches and damage. The rack includes a foot-operated tilt mechanism, allowing easy access to your vehicle's rear without unloading your bikes or removing the rack. When not in use, the rack folds down for convenient storage and better access to your vehicle.
Security is thoughtfully handled with an included HitchLock that fastens the rack to your vehicle. While a bike cable lock is not included, the rack features an integrated lock loop for adding your own lock, helping to safeguard your bikes when unattended. The HangTight is not compatible with RVs, campers, or trailers, and you should verify hitch pin hole depth for fit.
