Saris E-Bike Hitch Racks

An e-bike hitch rack is a platform rack rated for the weight of an electric bike, which usually weighs 45 to 75 pounds against 25 to 35 for a road or mountain bike. Two numbers decide which one: the rack's rating per bike and what your hitch can carry. Check the per-bike rating against your heaviest bike with the battery in; taking the battery out before loading saves 6 to 10 pounds. Then check the hitch. Two e-bikes and the rack can weigh close to 200 pounds, the tongue limit of a Class I 1.25" receiver, so most e-bike racks are built for a 2" receiver. Racks with a loading ramp let one person roll a heavy bike up instead of lifting it; racks without one cost less and fold smaller. Call 1-800-272-5362 with your bike's weight and your hitch size and a Rack Specialist will confirm the rack and the receiver it needs.
