Description

Description
The Thule TracRac contractor steel ladder rack bolts to the sides of a pickup bed and carries ladders, pipe and lumber above the bed and over the cab. Fit is decided by your truck's cab and bed, not by the badge, so confirm it before you order (drilling required).
The frame is 14-gauge, 1 1/2" welded square steel tube. Steel costs less and takes abuse; aluminum racks cut weight and do not rust. To keep rust off, this one is e-coated under a black powder coat, and the complete rack weighs 55 pounds.
Side mount and bottom mount tubes bolt to the bed through 17/32" and 5/16" holes you drill, using the supplied bolts and insert nuts. Check behind the bed wall for fuel lines, brake lines and wiring before drilling; that is the step people rush. Tilt arms with adjustable extension arms reach up to 37", and they must clear the cab roof by at least 2" when level.
The rack carries up to 250 pounds with the load spread evenly; if your truck's owner's manual gives a lower roof or bed limit, that figure applies. It is not for trailers or off-road use, and it comes off before an automatic car wash.
In the box: side mount tubes, bottom mount tubes, leg posts, tilt arms, extension arms, angle braces, a ladder bracket and all mounting hardware. Tie-down straps are sold separately.
