Description
The Thule 9027xt Apex Swing XT 4 bike rack is a premium hanging hitch mounted swing away bicycle rack with a sleek and stylish design that incorporates convenience, safety, and security. Thule's Apex Swing XT is designed with a built-in swing arm that allows easy access to the rear of your vehicle. The swing away arm allows you to conveniently swing the rack out 180 degrees, providing full access to the rear of your vehicle with the bikes loaded. To use this feature, simply loosen the hand tightened knob on the backside of the base, pull out the spring-loaded safety pin and swing away. The Apex Swing XT is compatible with 2" hitches only. The 9027xt Apex Swing XT has a convenient tool-free SnugTite Locking Stinger mounting system making installing or removing your bike rack quick and easy by simply loosening or tightening the hitch knob. To install the rack, simply push the bike rack into your receiver hitch until the integrated auto-hitch-pin snaps into place or engages with your hitch. The tightening knob will activate the anti-rattle mechanism to help eliminate vertical and horizontal movement for a secure and stable fit. The 9027xt Apex Swing XT has a compact cradle design accommodating a wide variety of bike sizes and frame styles. If you have a odd shaped bike frame or traditional women's bike you may want to consider Thule's 982xt bike frame adapter (sold separately - see below). Thule's compact cradles use a ratcheting style cradle strap - making loading and unloading your bikes quick and easy. The bike cradles are spaced 7" apart providing a greater distance between bikes for a safe and secure fit. Bike cradles also include Anti-Sway fasteners which help provide extra stability, protection and prevent bike-to-bike contact. The Apex Swing XT includes a quick release Hitch Switch which enables you to fold the bike arms down when not in use. For bicycle security, the Apex Swing XT includes a built-in cable lock that pulls out of the mast and locks into the end of one bike arm. A locking knob on the hitch connection locks the bike rack to your vehicle.
