Description
The Yakima RidgeBack 5 Bike Hitch Rack is made for cyclists who need a reliable, easy-to-use carrier for multiple bikes on vehicles equipped with 1.25" or 2" trailer hitches. Its design balances capacity and convenience, accommodating up to five bikes (4 bikes max when mounted on a 1.25" hitch) with padded cradles, protecting your gear during travel.
Compatibility is key for this rack. It fits both 1.25" and 2" receiver hitches and includes a locking SpeedKnob to secure the rack to your vehicle. The rack arms and mast fold down, allowing quick access to your rear hatch or trunk without removing the rack, which is crucial on longer trips or daily use. The rack also comes pre-assembled, so installation is straightforward and tool-free.
Bike loading is simple with the ZipStrips securing frames to anti-sway cradles, minimizing movement while driving. The arms are 30.5" long and 13.25" wide, accommodating a range of bike sizes and styles. For added security, Yakima offers the HandCuff Locking Cable (sold separately) to lock bikes directly to the rack.
Built to withstand frequent use, the RidgeBack 5 offers a durable steel frame with a finished coating designed to resist the elements. Its folding design aids in storage when not in use. While it offers high convenience, always verify your vehicle’s hitch pin hole depth and hitch type for ideal fit and safety. This rack is a practical, trustworthy choice for riders balancing multi-bike hauling with ease of access and secure transport.

"Absolutely Fantastic customer service!!!"
"My husband needed to buy a new roof rack for a truck he recently purchased and was told to get a System One brand that makes the racks from aluminium (so it doesnt rust). So I went searching online and originally went to System One's website to see if I could buy it direct from them, but I couldnt, so I found rackwarehouse.com who did sell them. Initially I was hesitant to buy something like this online since we had a bad experience with the 1st roof rack we bought 10 years ago from an online dealer, but it was impossible to find this thing in a bricks and mortar shop so we were kinda stuck buying online. So kind of reluctantly we went ahead and made the $$$$ dollar purchase with rackwarehouse, just praying we didnt get ripped off or have it arrive 6 months late and in hot pink or something. Well to my surprise, we had THE BEST EXPERIENCE WITH THIS WEBSITE! Not only did the rack arrive in 24 HOURS, but the following morning after I placed the order, a kind man phoned me to let me know we ordered the wrong sized rack for the truck we had (they ask you for the truck make and model when you buy it to make sure you get the right one) He said we bought the wrong size which was for a compact truck and that the correct size was about 9 bucks more. So he sent me the invoice, I paid within the hour, and then he shipped it THAT DAY and it arrived THE NEXT DAY. Bam! Perfect! I was so grateful he phoned up and he was soooooooooooooooooo nice! Really kind person and said this happens all the time. So dont forget to leave your vehicle details during checkout when prompted! I highly recommend this company. They are based in VT and have A+ service. The ladder rack was perfect as well. If we ever need anything rack related we will be going to this website from now on forever more. Thanks guys!!"
